The MPS Thistles – Millicent Beattie, Michelle Dunlop, Kalaini Bartlett and Ella Coulton have debated their way to the regional finals, hosted yesterday at Moree Public. The topic, That primary teachers should set projects for homework during the holidays proved rather difficult to argue! Ms Mary Atkin viewing the debate in Sydney via a VC link-up indicated that she had been both entertained and challenged as an adjudicator. Following her lengthy deliberation Ms Atkin awarded the debate to Ben Venue by a narrow margin. Congratulations to the Thistles and coach, Mr McDonald and thank you to Chairperson, Gabrielle Elbourne. This is the first year for quite some time that MPS has entered the NSW Premier's Debating competition – we look forward to building upon the experiences in 2018. Mr McDonald and Mrs Hosegood have been thrilled with the enthusiasm and skill development of the 12 students who have participated. Well done!
