Books are full of treasure – you just have to read to find it. From last week until the end of next week the school will conduct a number of activities that promote the joy of books and reading with Book Week officially starting next Monday.
MPS got an early start with our visiting shows last week - last Tuesday children were fortunate to be able to attend one of two visiting shows performed by Meerkat Productions. Students in Year K-3 saw the play Boy based on the Childrens Book Council Book of the Year short-listed book. Years 3-6 were privileged to see The Elephant another title short-listed for book of the year. There was plenty of laughter during both shows as the very entertaining and talented performers brought the books to life.
Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a colouring competition based on the short-listed books. Judging will occur shortly and prizes will be awarded next week.
Dress up day is on the Tuesday 21st August. The day is an out of uniform day so that children can come dressed as their favourite book character. Have you got your child's costume ready?
