Last Wednesday, the Moree Public School girls league tag team and boys rugby league team travelled to Gunnedah to compete in the regional finals of the Legends of League competition. The quality of teams was of a high standard and both teams competed hard in their pool matches.
The girls team came away with two close losses and a draw against a very tough field of competition. The boys tackle team had a slow start in defence against Warialda PS, managing to escape with a draw. Some improved defensive efforts and coordination of attacking plays, earned the team another draw to St Joseph's Glen Innes. The third game against Glen Innes Public saw both teams go try for try until a remarkable 80 metre intercept by Preston Tighe snatched the win for Moree Public on full time. All students represented their school with pride and great sportsmanship.
Well done, everyone!
