Technology

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an important part of our school's curriculum.

Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard or interactive flat panel, which enable students to interact with digital learning material as well as to view digital media.

There is one large computer laboratory containing 30 computers which serves entire classes, and an additional mini laboratory in the library with a pod of 15 computers.  As well, all classrooms contain at least 3 computers, bringing the total number of computers available to students to nearly 200.

We also have over 130 iPads which are used by students for educational apps, for research on the Internet, and for creative expression.  Our WiFi network will soon be upgraded thanks to the Connecting Country Schools project, with a WiFi access point in every learning space and WiFi coverage in most of our outdoor areas.

All classrooms are also connected to our school-wide network which provides supervised access to the internet.

Other technological additions to our school include:

  • video conferencing facilities (part of the Connected Classrooms initiative)
  • digital projection technology in school hall
  • audio recording equipment (used to teach students how to write & record their own musical compositions)
  • Cue, Sphero, Edison and Lego robots (used to teach coding and robotics skills)
